Hi Sub,

with RECURRDING_RECORDINGS - do you take the "priority" value into account when making a decision on scarce tuner availability?

I see that the currently priority value is same as the oid value, however there's no way to change the order on the web UI.

Thanks,
 Dane

Dane,

I can confirm that the Priority value is used to order the scheduling of Recurring Recordings (from lowest to highest). So, it does effectively, force the "decision on scarce tuner availability.

The fact that it is always the same value as the OID in your database is simply a reflection of the default/initial value always being designed to be the highest value (i.e. the newest Recurring Recordings have the lowest priority=highest Priority value) which is accomplished by using the OID (which is always unique and increasing).

I don't believe that sub has added a way to change the priority from default the web interface. However, from NextPVR.exe or any of the remote UI clients (i.e. ndroid, knewc, Roku, etc.). Or even the web remote UI client (i.e. http://127.0.0.1:8866/uiclient.html). Go to the Schedule menu and then use the right arrow to go to the Recurring list. Then use the hidden menu to change the Sort order to "Sorting by Priority" or "Sorting by Priority Descending"). Then you can use "skip left" and "skip right" (or Ctrl-Left and Ctrl-Right) to move the currently selected item down or up the priority list.

EDIT: Humm... I just tried this out, and the actual moving with the skip left and skip right don't seem to be working for me currently on uidroid or the web remote UI client. I haven't had to adjust priority in quite a while, so maybe that functionality broke somewhere along the line. I'm sure that Martin or sub can check/confirm.

If these are custom rules then things like priority, new only and duplicate checks might need to be factored in
