EPG update

Hi,

Trying to use as a EPG source:

http://epg.vuplus-community.net/rytecUK_SkyLive.xz

This downloads a zipped .xz file.

Currently the only way I have found to add to NextPVR is to unzip and rename rytecUK_SkyLive1 with file extension .xml and replace manually once a week in XMLTV channel lineup. It will not accept the source .xz direct.

Works well and populates 7 day epg guide.

Just wondering is there a way for NextPVR to use EPG direct from :

http://epg.vuplus-community.net/rytecUK_SkyLive.xz

Since netcore doesn't have native xz de-compression, try this

You could use an UpdateEPG.bat file https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Scripts Note I use 7zip CLI not sure which unzip program you use but you could use it too I guess.

Look at that I edited my original file since there was a mistake.

Run it outside NextPVR first to confirm it works.

gz is very common.

I've never come across an epg using xz compression. Infact, I'd never even heard of xz compression before your post.

It used by vuplus/enigma user groups for distributing their Rytek based xmltv files. Since xz is available on those DVR Linux distros the smaller size make it a logical choice when many users are downloading from the free servers.
