Issues with MPD Files

Hi all....

I need some advice please with regards to dealing with MPD files.

I currently have two NextPVR servers.

One in the UK, the other in Johannesburg.

On the server in the UK, I have the BBC channels which are all now in MPD format. They do open in NextPVR, so it's most likely there's no encryption.

I then import the channels via the M3U playlist from the UK, to Johannesburg server, it's always worked till the BBC pulled the plug on the legacy HLS streams. 


On the UK server with the MPD streams on NextPVR, I get severe buffering, and then with the playlist imported to JHB, the UK channels don't load at all, they just time out....

Anyone know what potentially could solve this?

You need to use an Extra to load mpd files. There are examples searching the forum

it's always worked till the BBC pulled the plug on the legacy HLS streams.

They've only just changed the URL slightly.

Change x=3 to x=4 in all dead links

Thanks for the tip Martin.

Had a look, and have found some examples, but can't find something which I think would work.

Would please be able to point me in the direction of something which will work. In the mean time, by changing the URL files, it seems the m3u8 work again, but do want to switch over to MPD streams for the BBC in the future.

I don't support ffmpeg, scripts or extras as a general rule. It should work if you have the correct url that will work with ffplay and you change ampersands to &
