Can't record scheduled programs

I meant the computer was from the 90's. Started with Win 95, upgraded to 7, died this year.
Will give HDHR a try.

First I want to thank you for your time. I tried everything you mentioned, but nothing worked.

FYI, going on the fact I could record live, but not scheduled, I changed the network device to never sleep.
Didn't work.
After investigating the Windows event log the only possible thing that looked amiss was a network complaint about a duplicate computer name.
Since the name was unique, and nothing else had that name, I ignored it.
After awhile I decided there would be no harm trying.
So, I renamed the computer and got 3 recording on 3 channels spread out through the day, and they all worked.
