I am hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction with a very similar issue presenting under similar circumstances, please? I too cannot find a way to get my generic USB DVB-T tuner to successfully locate any channels during scanning.
In my case, I am setting up a new Windows 11 x64 PC, using the same USB tuner that I had working with NextPVR without any problems on the former Win10 x64 PC just days ago. After trying unsuccessfully for several days now to get it to locate channels during its scan, including several complete removals and reinstalls of the software, I located this thread thinking the issue might be solved. I then replaced the "unmanaged.dll" file with the one from this thread, followed by a reboot, to find that unfortunately the behaviour on my PC remains unchanged. I have now reconfirmed the correct installation of the tuner by installing MediaPortal, which has proven to successfully scan and operate all expected channels without any issues at all. I am located in South East Queensland, Australia if this information is helpful, and have tried both my local area and "all regions" NextPVR scan settings, all with the same result - the scan appears to proceed through the frequency ranges selected, but no channels at all are identified. I have attached my logs, hoping this may be informative of the real issue, if anyone wishes to take a look. Thanks in advance for any help anyone in the community can provide help with this.

There is a weird thing they do in Australia with frequency offsets, which the vast majority of tuner devices take care of automatically. Maybe you've got an old device or old drivers though, which don't handle this. We can probably tell from the frequencies MediaPortal found channels on

Thank you for such a quick response. I was able just now to export an xml file of my tuned frequencies from MediaPortal as attached "export". I also found a second file (also attached) that seems to indicate the frequency range that MP uses for my district for tuning if the user specifies it. Do these contain what you are chasing? Many thanks.

Try creating a "C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\Tuning\DVB-T\Australia - Test.ini" file, with the follow.
Code: [TERTYPE] If that doesn't find anything, try adding 125 to each of those big numbers...or subtracting 125 from each of them. ie, for 613500, you'd try 613625, and next try 613375

This worked perfectly using the tuning parameters as you supplied without any additions or subtractions. 82 Channels successfully tuned! Thank you.
Now I can resume working towards getting it to work with Jellyfin NextPVR extension. Much appreciated. |
