Thanks that was perfect, the new setting is not working sub will have to check DVB parsing since the New: is being removed.

Interestingly I didn't see the New: in the HD channels' source but lots on the SD. Is that what you see in TVHeadend? It was only on these few for DORA and GINX news

No, in TVH you tend to see New: against the same programmes in HD that are there on the SD Channels - we set the timers for HD channels usually anyway, so The Yorkshire Vet would also be New: The Yorkshire Vet on C5HD.

Maybe make sure you are looking at the same day? A lot of channels may show last weeks episode a day or so before the New: episode airs and that wouldn't show New:

Here's a facepalm moment. After countless scans, debug versions and head scratching plus sub assuring me the code was solid, sub found that a 2015 feature in config.xml is overriding the setting.

<StrippedEPGPrefixes>Movie:~MOVIE:~New:~All New</StrippedEPGPrefixes>

Edit the default and will get your New: listing back. This is clearly not something most users have cared for or should actually do since they will get treated as distinct series and won't have external metadata matches but it has been tweaked for the next version in any case.

I really like the option to disable defaulting shows to new though so thanks for the suggestion and your help getting there.

Thank you for putting the time and effort in to resolve this.

I'm grateful for the continued development and support and general willingness to resolve things that aren't necessarily in the interest of the masses, but gives everyone more options and flexibility moving forwards.

It's the main reason I keep coming back to try nextpvr again and again, and I'm pretty sure one day (soon) it will surely surpass all of my personal requirements.

Thank you
