Hi,
I have installed another HDD for recording TV and I wasn't able to find anywhere how exactly does NextPVR use the extra drive. Does it just fill the first one and then starts filling up the second one or is there something I need to select or enable to use the second drive?
I did add it in web GUI and what also surprised me was a different look on the drive. On my screenshot the E: drive was the first one I've been using for a few months and the F: drive is the new one.
Can someone please explain how does NextPVR behave?
Thank you for your replies.

By default, it'll record to the default/main recording directory (E:\Kodi).

When you schedule a recording, you have the option to record to another location. ie, you'll have the option of 'default' or '2TB WD Red'

Thank you very much for your response.
I found this option when setting a new recording schedule and the other option was of course "2TB WD Red". In web GUI I changed one programme schedule to the second drive and suddenly every programme has the directory changed to the second drive. I'll have a look how setting it from Kodi and from web GUI affects things when I'll be back home. Right now I just wanted to utilize an unused 2 TB drive I had lying around.
Thank you again for your help.

From Kodi is much the same, if you don't specify a folder it will use the configured default folder. If you want to "force" the default then you have to add it as a recording directory.

Allowing us to manually change where a particular show records is pretty cool. It would also be very cool if the NextPVR could allow us to globally set it to try to use a different folder from something else that might already be recording to a folder. (preferably a different drive if we knew what we were doing on our side) -Bill

Only Windows drive letter give this flexibility. On Linux and with shares it is not trivial distinguishing a drive from a folder.  Current drivers are probably fast enough for this not to be a concern.  You could change the global (default folder) just before recordings as it only gets called at record time if this is a major concern, most new drives are fast enough.
