I haven't had to change any of the IR blasting configuration for years however I've got myself in a tangle when trying to add some new HDMI/HDMI audio channels for my HD-PVR device. Logs attached. The IRBlast.exe works fine from the command line using the arguments:

IRBlast.exe -channel <channel number> -delay 500 -host localhost

However it doesn't seem to work in NPVR, and when I enter into the config screen it somehow appends another <channel number> on the end of the string, so for channel 30 for instance it looks like:

IRBlast.exe -channel 30 -delay 500 -host localhost 30

Which I think is messing it up? How do I remove the last number?

Logs and screenshot attached.

Did you move from Schedules Direct to XMLTV?

No. I use EPG Collector to create the TVGuide.xml file.

OK, because of the Schedules Direct errors in your logs I thought maybe you had started by populating channels with Schedules Direct and then mixed in XMLTV You might want to disable Schedules Direct support on the web setting tab.

I don't know how to manually update these setting sub would have to tell you. If you want to make your database available I might be able to fix it, I suspect you added the channel parameter twice. If the ziped file is > 4MB it would need to be saved externally.

FWIW I don't recommend calling the blaster executable directly. I simply create a script or batch file and pass parameters to avoid update issues.

Thanks for the reply Martin. I looked through the config.ini file and couldn't find anything to update there - is it the npvr.db3 file you'd need? Good advice re the blaster executable as part of a script, I'll look at that.

@sub - is it possible you can help here? Ideally I'd like to be able to make some simple text edits to the executable path and arguments and save, rather than use the settings interface, which I can imagine is designed for bulk channel scan/import, rather than my use case.

Yes it is npvr.db3 that I would look at. I can change it to a script too, but hearing sub's comments would be helpful.

You should just be able to hit 'Update Channels', and set the path to the blaster executable, something like "c:\temp\irblast.exe", then set the parameters to "-channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost"

I just tried this here, and get the following. I'd initially set it to just "-channel {channel}" so I could test and see it change.

Got it!

Thank you!
