Hi

I see that you have released a new version (7.0.1.241229) of NextPVR for all supported platforms.  Unfortunately it seems the Docker version (nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64Confusedtable) is still the old version (7.0.0.241105).

I have been running the older version via Docker since its release with no problems. I generally use Portainer to manage my Docker installation and have used the supplied docker-compose file as a Portainer stack to create my implementation.  Rerunning the stack should pull down and execute the latest docker image but in this case it doesn't seem to.

Regards.

It looks like on Docker Hub that there was a push to the stable and prerelease tag 11 hours ago, but the latest tag is still from 2 months ago, so I'm not sure why you aren't seeing it.  I know on Synology it can take awhile for the container manager to see an update, so maybe that's true for Portainer as well.

BTW, I use the latest tag because that way the Synology container manager can update the containers with a button click (that option doesn't work if you use any other tag), so I'm hoping Sub could do a push to the latest tag as well.  Otherwise I'll switch over to stable and just do manual updates.

I tried both the :Stable and :Latest images but get the same result with both.  Portainer always pulls images from the relevant repository so I don't think there should be any delay as per Synology.

UPDATE

I deleted the current NextPVR image from Docker/Portainer and forced Portainer to download the current :Stable image again.  This time it gave me the new version and this now seems to be working correctly.

Chris

I'm having the same issue, my nextpvr is installed with :latest but won't upgrade.

You shouldn't be using latest you should be using stable. Latest is 2 months old.

Yep, you should be using the 'stable' tagged version.

I really wish Synology would extend their update detection and auto update function to other tags besides latest. I switched to stable, but now it means I have to manually update the container when an update comes up rather than pushing the update button on the container tab.

It kind of depends on how you set it up (and what version of Synology DSM you are running, it's different for 6.x than 7.x).  With Synology you can set it up from the GUI in Docker (or Container Manager - again depending on your version) or using Docker compose files and building projects.  If you can share how you created your Docker setup, we can probably help you to make sure you're using the stable tag.
