Hi all.

Encountered something strange today - perhaps what I learned will be helpful to others.

I set up a new IPTV device testing a new provider. I use IPTVboss for editing etc so my M3U and EPG URLs are Dropbox share links.

My device imported ok, no errors, but no new EPG info was loading. EPG update had a suspiciously small number of updates.

Looked inside the EPG xml file itself and found lots of future entries, they just weren't showing in the TV Guide.

Tried restarting service, deleting DB3, no difference.

On a hunch I shortened the name of my IPTVboss output files by a few characters (taking the filename itself down from 14 chars to 10, and the full URL from 112 to 108) and the next update worked.

Is this a known char limit issue, on either the full URL or the filename? I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere.

I'm not aware of any limit.

If you want to post the logs, I can look what the error was.

Sure, here's the logs.

Thanks

- edit - think they were 2.1 mb and didn't take (even though I got a green check mark) - will try again

I had a couple extra log copies in there that got added into the zip too.

Old habit - I don't like looking into a "live" log, always make a copy first and look at that.

I could only see the one attempt to update the EPG in those logs, and in that particular case, it was able to successfully pull in the listings.

You'd probably need to post the logs immediately after an 'update epg' attempt with the url that wasn't working.
