folder creation

Why does nextpvr create new folders on my recording drive? 
I have an external drive labeled Recordings and every so often new folders show up labeled Recordings1 Recordings2 etc. and I have not been able to figure it out!!

By default it creates folders for each show in the recording directory. ie "South Park" etc. Is this what you're talking about?

There is an option for disabling that behaviour, but it quickly gets messy if you just dump all your recordings in the same folder.

sub I don't think the OP is talking about subdirectories like /Recordings/ShowName etc. They mean they're seeing multiple root recordings directories like /Recordings, /Recordings1, /Recordings2 etc.

Brian I thought like you but I think sub nailed it figuring out the 1 2 3 were examples since NextPVR can't make directories like that.  It course without logs it could be a bot.
