Hi all,

I've appreciated all of your support. Reading these posts have been a real education.

I've gotten the MCE remote to navigate around GBPVR. That was easy. What is a foreign subject to me is teaching the MCE irblaster v2004 how to control my satellite box.

Hopefully this can somehow be done through config and not have to mess around with Girder. I've gotten girder to work to a point also, but teaching the blasting codes is beyond me.

Thanks again for your help,
mike

GB-PVR doesnt support the MCE IR Blaster. If you need to use it, you'll have to use Girder.

Thanks, Sub

I was afraid you'd say that. Can anyone give me the rough basics on the learning aspect of Girder as it applies to remote controls and blasters?

I understand I need a plugin (got that) and a GML (got Sub's). How to program it so that it knows to blast a "1" when "1" is pressed on the remote.

Sorry if i'm sticking in this forum instead of Girder's but i feel more at home here.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I'm an absolute bunny when it comes to Girder, so I'm not the best person to give advice on this.

Thanks, Sub

Maybe there's somebody out there that's set up girder before.

No need to girder if you don't want (been there, done that, dumped it!).

Use this (need it for girder anyway):

http://www.thegreenbutton.com/community/...opicPage=1

Use a command window to learn your ir comands and test them. Once you've got it working:

Compile a batch file which accepts the channel number as an input and call that from gbpvr using the .exe changer (I've got one you can have)

Any questions get in touch.

Thats good to know, and much better than having to suggest Girder.
