I have had an order in for an MVP for 4 weeks now and the shop is still saying they don't know when it will arrive. I want to buy this in New Zealand in case there are issues with TV standards etc.

Has anyone in NZ bought an MVP from Australia, or any where else?

Does anyone have one for sale ? Wink

Andy.

You won't have any problem with TV standards, the MVP can do both PAL and NTSC. I'm in Australia and bought mine from the US, the only issue was the power plug. The power pack can take any voltage/frequency you can throw at it but you would need a travel plug adapter to plug it in.

I bought mine from PCTronix in Auckland - and overall I was very impressed with their service. After waiting a week they e-mailed me to say that they had to get it from Germany because there were none in NZ or Aust. Despite this, it still only took 2 to 3 week to arrive. Had it about a week now, and so far so good. Still a few thing to iron out.

I'm in Auckland and bought 2 MVPs from the UK. Had to modify the scart lead that came with them to provide RCA audio/video plugs and had to buy a NZ to UK powerplug adaptor but apart from that no problems.
Saved about NZ$100 each on the local NZ new price doing this.

Hi,

I can also confirm that UK MVPs work fine in NZ and elsewhere (I recently emigrated from the UK to NZ and brought my two MVPs with me).

If you don't fancy modifying the SCART lead, Dick Smith (and other places) sell simple plug-in SCART to phono and s-video converters that'll allow you to use your existing RCA-style leads.

I agree with comments about NZ pricing - an MVP can usually be bought for around £50 in the UK ($120-ish at current exchange rates). It seems consumer electronics are all expensive over here, I thought the UK was bad enough!

Cheers,

- Ali

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll try Krome, otherwise I'll buy from overseas.
