Adding audio to mpg file to create a DVD

Hopefully some of you experts will be able to tell me how to do the following.

I have been asked to convert a friends very old wedding video to a dvd.

recording the video thrugh then pvr350 into mpg format was easy enough but how can I add a music track to it and then put it on a dvd?

what software do I need to use to acheive this ?

Any good authoring package will do basic stuff. DVDLab, Tmpgenc DVD Author are the only two I would recommend, preferrably DVDLab, because it's infinitely flexible, TDA is limited.
Using these, you would simply add music to the project during authoring. This does not allow much leeway for mixes or any fades/effects.
If you want a music "mix" added to the video, you need a good Editor.
Something similar to Vegas, Pinnacle Studio, etc.
This would hard code an audio track to the video, based on time, and allows you to vary pitch, tempo, fades, effects, etc., but is also a LOT more work.
