This is not really a support question, but wasn't sure what forum to put it.

Im looking at several pvr's, mythtv, MCE, and now this one...

Does GB-PVR have any advantages over the others? (Other than cost for MCE). I like the fact theres alot of MVP use.

Also, does GB-PVR work in windows 2003?

Probably the most significant things:
- Support for XCard including OSD/menus etc on tv out (only JovePlayer/GB-PVR have this)
- Support for PVR350 hardware decoder incl OSD/menus on TV out (only Mythtv/SageTV/GB-PVR have this)
- Support for the MVP (only GB-PVR has this)

I also like to think there is lots small features that are better too (simple user interface etc).

Yes, should work fine with win 2003.

Realistically, you'd need to try them all yourself and go with the one you prefer.

Yea, Ive been playing with MCE. I think that once the Extenders come out for it, it will be really cool. But who knows how much they will cost.

My main purpose for a system is VoD, so from any TV I can watch any movies on my central server. Eventually Id like to add the PVR functionality to the system.

Since GB-PVR is free, cant hurt to play with it [Image: smile.gif] Will give me an excuse to get an MVP.

Can GB-PVR still operate with no tuner installed (like if I just want to stream videos to the MVP)?.

Thanks for the replies [Image: smile.gif]

Yes, it can operate without a tuner, but obviously you loose half of the benefit.
