I eventually got it going, with the Twinhan DVB-T and the latest BDA's I got it running. It took some searching on your site to find out about the (trial) versions of Cyberlink/Intervideo APPS to get the MUX's installed. I think these should be up the top of a FAQ, but they made all the difference with recording anything.

FFDShow also helped the output quality immensly, cleared any jerkyness of recorded shows for me.

So my issues at the moment,
I use the 'Overlay' option to force 16:9 on my Composite TV output (otherwise I get 4:3) but the overlay buttons (+ - || Exit) show a little higher than where they are, I have to click about an inch below the picture on-screen. (told you they were minor) but where did the 16:9 switch go from the config (as pictured on your site)? I guess this as a minor bug to a wish but...

When setting a recording the <--> buttons at the end of the lines on Quality etc are not mouse-click controlled, everything else seems to be but I gotta get my keyboard out for this one.

I think the app should be able to index current files in the media directory rather the DB'ing only those GB-PVR recorded, if it's to be used as a main front-end app and all.

I think a review of the plug-in files/skin would be good to, about time they got re-instated in this forum-board as download files or something and indexed/locatable a bit better.

Beyond this, I love it, great program that with a little effort (as with all these PVR's) it really works well and so far very reliably. The Web support is a treat.

Oh and that reminds me, in the TV Guide within the app it would be great to have a day/time and next/prev page selectors like in the web version, and perhaps a type-in searcher. I would really like to list titles for recording even if they are not in the guide too. Here in Aus, just occasionally, shows are put on at wierd times of the day and night, would be good to include 'future' programs.

10/10 for a quality program.
Rex.

With the Overlay renderer, the OSD position is dictated by the the video. Some video decoders (like the one you're using by the sound of it), ignore GB-PVR's to stretch the video to fullsize, so GB-PVR thinks the buttons are lower on the screen. There is no work around for this other than configuring your video decoder to allow stretching instead of preserving the aspect ratio.

Pictured where? If you're using VMR then GB-PVR lets you toggle aspect ratio with the F7 key. Sorry, aspect ratio control is not supported with Overlay.

Yes, I do intend to do this at some point, but it's low priority. Its been like this for about a year. Remote control support is my priority, not the mouse.

Nah.

Again, mouse isnt a high priority for me. You can do everything with the remote.

If I understand you right you want to be able to see all music, jpegs, recordings and other mpeg files that exists under your media folder on the PC?
But maybe you mean that all should be put into the GBPVR database for fast searches? - I do not think this is necessary - the plugins helps you to do this.

I use the plugins Xrecord, My music and My Pictures.

Xrecord lets me see all the mpegs under my media folders - regardless of if they are recordings in GBPVR database or only mpegs in different folders. I have also oppurtunity to add info in a DAT file per mpeg - so that I can set a title and description etc for my home made videos of my vacations etc. If I want to I can make folder action movies, drama etc to organize my mpegs

My Music finds all my music and I think it utilises a database too for speed.

My Pictures also finds all my pictures and it utilises a database too for speed. In the coming version it will also allow you to make "albums" by having shortcuts in a directory to whatever pictures you want to show together - without having to copying the pictures.
Using DELL P4 1.5GB RAM 250 GB HD + DLINK DNS313 netdisk 1,5TB, 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR150 w/45-button remote, 1 Popcorn Hour 110. Win XP SP3. GB-PVR v1.4.7 Plugins: Xrecord

Thanks for the tips JasJol, will check them out.

On the issue of 16:9/4:3 I am only able to use the Cyberlink DTV Video Decoder, if I use the default/Intervideo/Cyberlink Video/SP decoders the Live TV is quite jerky but yes, the F7 works then.

With the Cyberlink DTV in VRM it brings up an 'Active' window and shows the video in a boxed window and not the full screen, it's really hard to exit from it too in this mode so I guess I will just put up with it for the time being, it's working great quality wise with Overlay and the DTV decoder, for me, at least with my GForce MX 440.

On the quickstart page (http://www.gbpvr.com/quickstart.htm) it shows the playback window with a 16:9 & Drive (D:\) selection, I assume this has been changed/updated in later versions as it just doesnt exist for me. In that area I have 'Skip Control' entries.

OK, remote support is important, i understand. So far I have channel +- working with my Twinhan remote, I guess I will have to play with the settings to get more out of this for me... Should be more fun.

Cheers, Rex

This is because your installation of the Cyberlink decoder is not compatible with VMR. There is some registry settings to enable VMR support with most Cyberlink decoders. Search for EnableVMR9 or something like that.

That setting was only related to DVD playback. DVD playback has now been integrated with everything else and uses the same F7 for changing aspect ratios.
