I have been trying to fix this error all day, but have had no luck. If anyone can shed some light on the problem then that would be fantastic.

all software seems to have installed fine. I have set the TV Cards channel numbers etc...

..the problem i get is when I try to view any channel, I get an error message saying:

Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I think it has something to do with the channel changer option but thats just from trial and error.

I am using a Hauppauge 250 with FM tuner. All the software should be up to date as I downloaded it all this morning. Everything else works 100% its just that with this error I cannot view TV.

/I have also had a play with the record function. It seems to be able to find the channel to record from but only records a couple of frames then loops back.

Any help would be fantastic.

You could take a look at the log-files; they'll probably tell you more:

C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe.log
and
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log

Please post your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log files.

Had the same problem with a 250.
Use HCWclear (from hauppauge website) to erase all drivers, then reboot.
When window prompts you, install the card drivers you get from the Hauppauge website, and after than, use the driver update .exe (also from Hauppage website)
Last but not least, if you have a MVP, reinstall the MVP driver from here http://forum.gbpvr.com/forums/showpost.p...stcount=73 as the PVR250 drivers erase the MVP encoders.
Then erase the source in GBPVR, re-create it and reboot
That's how I fixed mine, I hope the problem won't reappear.

First of thanks to LilY0da, i did what you said but still I get the same problem. Thanks for the help anyhow.

Below are links to the two files requested:

Ive linked them because they are quite long in length.
http://www.mymegafile.com/files/235/GBPVR.exe.log

http://www.mymegafile.com/files/235/gbpv...ce.exe.log

Thanks for any help anyone can give, I hope this turns out to be something simple.

Cheers

It looks like this is the problem:

Code:
14/08/2005 23:58:53.328    ERROR    [2]    Error: msg=0x202 (WM_LBUTTONUP) hwnd=0xc01d2 wparam=0x0 lparam=0xd7013d result=0x0  :  System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at ConnectFilters(IBaseFilter* pFilterUpstream, IBaseFilter* pFilterDownstream)
at NativeUtilities.ConexantRecorder.StartRecording(String cardType, ConexantRecordSource recordingSource, Int32 qualitySetting, Int32 board, String filename, Int32 channel, Int32 countryCode, Int32 tuningType, Boolean useStreamingEngineIfAvailable, Boolean previewMode, Boolean fmRadioMode, Boolean fmRadioPreviewMode)
at NativeUtilities.ConexantRecorder.getPreviewGraph(String cardType, ConexantRecordSource recordingSource, Int32 board, Int32 channel, Int32 countryCode, Int32 tuningType)
   at GBPVR.Backend.Common.DirectRecordingSource.a(ChannelTuning A_0)

This looks like the problem discussed here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...#post27587

Sub says: "The error above is most likely caused by trying to use live preview mode. Turn off live preview mode on the client."
You might give this a try.

cheers Remco, i did what you said and I can now get a very distorted still image on the tv display. My problem is still not fixed due to the same image being shown for all TV stations and no real TV picture being shown but I feel that its getting somewhere. I will have a look on the forums and see if anyone has had the same problem.

Heres my native.log, hope it can help

http://www.mymegafile.com/files/235/GBPV...native.log

Cheers for all the help, I really think this could be working soon.
