Dummy recorder plugin

I don't have my htpc setup yet but I still want to develop a plugin for gbpvr. This plugin however depends on gbpvr behaving like normal. Recording shows, showing a channel, timeshifting etc.

Is it possible?

The plugin I want to develop is for use with lcd(studio|hype|info) (substitute the one you want )

I dont understand what you're trying to ask. Can you please repeat the question in more detail?

I think he wants access to EPG data but doesn't have a capture card to setup in order to configure an EPG source.

If that is the case, you can setup a capture source for any old card and it'll work. Obviously it'll fail when it goes to record, but it'll go through the motions.

Yes. But then I won't be able to get channelchange events, recording starting events etc.

If you need to get these sorts of events, then go buy a card.

I guess I would have to. Getting some soon anyway. Is the Sapphire Theatrix a safe choice? I heard many nice things about the Theatre 550 chip.

Either a Theatrix or a Hauppauge PVR150.
