Closed Captions (USA) with MVP?

I'm thinking of getting an MVP. But my question is, will it pass thru the closed captions (USA) for recordings or live TV so that my TV will display them?

My current GBPVR is not connected to a TV. CC's do not show on my computer screen (obviously, because the video is displayed through the computer and GBPVR does not decode CC). I recorded a show and then put it on a DVD using Nero. When I played the DVD in my stand-alone DVD player, my TV did not decode any closed captions. I don't know if GBPVR did not record them, or if the process of putting the show on DVD with Nero lost them.

Before I purchase an MVP, I want to know if I'm going to get closed captions. If not, then the MVP (and probably GBPVR) is not a viable option for me, as we need CC in my house.

My tuner is a Hauppauge PVR-250.

Thanks,

- Bob

No, sorry CC will not be available on your MVP.

oes your card capture CC? Because if it does you can see it. The thing is that GBPVR does not create CC - your card must be able to capture the video and the cc data stream like the Hauppauge 250

Yes, I have a PVR-250. How do I get it to capture CC? Even then, according to Sub, they won't get passed through using the MVP.

If it is present in the recording then the CC information will be passed to the MVP, but the MVP just ignores it. For CC information to be displayed via the MVP, Hauppauge would need to change this behaviour.
