Just tried GB-PVR after trawling through all the other frontends seeing what they were like (thinking of putting a new box together for the basement). Have to say that GB-PVR is the best so far. Feels (fairly) solid; very good setup interface; doesn't feel too 'in your face' or flashy...but slick. When I first started playing with it I knew it was good. Thanks for putting it together!

Enough of the compliments- I do have some questions Smile

I'm using a Nova-T (new revision) with the Hauppauge BDA drivers; Nvidia FX5200; NVidia mpeg2 codecs; VMR output

Anything I can do to improve tuning? It's a rooftop aerial + Booster.
I'm using Ridge Hill in the UK as the setting, and it doesn't pick up the full range of channels that MythTV did (seems to vary as to what muxes are picked up). Sometimes rescan brings up no channels found at all.

Channel change is about 4 or 5 seconds. Is this more a BDA driver/Nova-T problem? Myth dragged its feet on channel change and so did every other Windows frontend so may not be something you can help with.

Will search in the EPG beome more sophisticated. All I really want is a search for Films, or category or genre search.

Is there any difference in the recording quality modes if you are using a DVB card like the Nova-T?

Cheers,

Keep up the program, I'll promise I'll donate.

You could try editing config.xml and setting <BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>. This has help some users

If you've got live preview mode enabled, I would have expected faster channel change times. It takes about 1 to 1.5 seconds to channel channels on my DVB-S setup.

There are plugins which provide better search facilities. See http://www.gbpvr.com/pmwiki

I dont have any genre or category information, so you're unlikely to see this in the near future. Some plugins do add this, but the USA/Zap2it only at this stage.

No, they'll all produce the same results.
