Is it possible to have GBPVR play files through UNC paths? For instance, I have the entire Bevis and Butthead collection saved on my network (it's very large) on another drive. I'd like to see those recordings in GBPVR so I can ultimately play those on the MVP.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks Smile

Yeah, you con configure the UNC path in config.xml
If you use Video Archive or Xrecord to view your videos, you can put in the UNC path directly in the config application.
You may have to modify the user that the GBPVR service runs as if your UNC path isn't publicly available.
Beware though that none of the plugins can't read the space left on your network drive if it's a UNC path. If you try to read it, most of the time it crashes the plugin or returns a weird error window. It's still in the wishlist Smile

<VideoLibraryDirectory>Default~C:\MyVideos|</VideoLibraryDirectory>
-> This is where you store your AVIs, and DVDs, etc...
<MusicLibraryDirectory>Default~C:\MyMusic|</MusicLibraryDirectory>
-> This is where you store your MP3s
<RecordingsDirectory>C:\MyVideos</RecordingsDirectory>
-> This is where GBPVR will store MPEG2s of the shows it records on TV

Howdy Smile

Well - I figured that part out -- but I needed to 'add' paths. And -- that part I did (finally) figure out.

Now that I've added paths, it looks like this:
<VideoLibraryDirectory>Standard Video Directory~C:\MyVideos|Bevis & Buttlead~\\server\c-drive\bbs\files\bevis_and_butthead|Soutpark Archive~\\server\c-drive\bbs\files\southpark|</VideoLibraryDirectory>

Thanks and I sincerely appreciate your help Smile

Warmest wishes,
Shannon
