After so much experimenting, installing and uninstalling, i think i have a few codecs and dshow filters laying around in my system, that i don't use and probably should get rid of--though the problem is, i don't know which ones to remove and which ones to keep. I'm wondering if someone can help me and/or give me a general guideline on how to identify which of these i should remove and/or unregister.
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

If everything is working well on your system, don't fix it Wink

I've used VCSwap in the past. It shows which codecs are installed and which are active. From videohelp.com:
Quote:VCSwap is a tool for Hot Swapping Video Codecs. You can, while you are editing your video's, swap between the different codecs. Enabling and Disabling installed Codecs on the fly. Showing of Installed DirectShow filters.
It's helped me in the past when I've had conflicts or I can't play certain files types. Get it here
