256MB DDR Sparkle Geforce 6200

Just saw this this 6200 card for £40.00. It seems quite cheap is it good value for a htpc card or have I missed something?

Yep it will be fine, but truthfully I don't now why they add 256MB to these units as they don't have the power to use them in games so it's pointless.
If they do a 128mb version cheaper it would be just as useful in the htpc environment. The good thing is that the 6200 has purevideo (http://www.digitalproducer.com/articles/...p?id=34391) so should improve video quality for you.

Theres not much difference in price (£3.00) between the 128 & 256 cards.

What about cooling though?
This looks like its passive & this has a fan!
Yet they are the same unless one of the sites has shown the wrong card?

It looks like the 128mb card is passive which would be the better choice for a htpc
