If I have multiple storage drives and a motherboard that doesn't support RAID; what is the best way to configure GBPVR? Is there a way to specify mutliple recording directories? If one drive filled up would it be possible for GBPVR to start using the second drive?

You can use the Xrecord or Video Archiver plugin's to move recorded programs to other drives/folders.

Is this what your trying to do?
GBPVR Server:
AMD Sempron 3300+, 1gb DDR, 100, 200 & 500gb HDDs, DVD -/+RW PVR150 RETAIL, PVR150MCE.
GBPVR 1.0.16, SKIN'S = Default Blue, PLUGIN'S = None

You can still do raid in Windows XP. Levels 0 and 1 are built in and 5 is even possible with a few hacks (do a google search on windows xp raid 5). Using windows xp software raid is not going to be much slower than motherboard raid since that too is software raid. The only advantage of motherboard raid (or cheap raid cards) is that they take care of the setup a little. For increased storage space raid 0 (striping) via windows xp's built in software support is perfect. Just remember there is no redundency in raid 0 so with 2 drives you have twice the space but also twice the chance for a drive failure which will destroy ALL the data striped over the two drives.

I was running raid 0 with the moterhboard controller but the risk of loosing recordings before I got to watch them got to me. One big advantage the four VHS tape recorders had was that tapes sit along time without loosing anything. So now I have a raid 5 array using an LSi Megaraid I4 controller which I am very happy with so far. I tested it with 6 recordings running at once with ShowAnalyzer running during the recordings (throttled to 10%) on all 6 and I watched another recording at the same time and everything worked great. All 6 recordings came out fine, ShowAnalyzer finished on all six by the end and I never had a single issue watching the other recording. I think a large part of this is due to the LSi raid controller that has its own I960 processor and 16MB cache.

Congrats to Sub for an excellent program, I will probably be donating some more to the cause just to keep developement going.
