I have a question ans possibly a feature request.

1. When I open the 'Prune Duplicates' tab in the VA plugin properties and add something to the list, then click ok, then open the properties again, the entries I just entered are gone. If I had completely exited gbpvr config, then it gets saved. I guess this is in the bug catagory.

2. I need some clarification about the other fields in this same config panel. Are the unique IDs in tied to the show names in the same screen, or are they separate filters?

3. How do I get multiple IDs since there is only 1 field?

4. Should I have the builtin zap2it pruning in gbpvr disabled? Are they both pruning at the same time?

5. On the first panel, what does 'Set as default video plugin' do?

Thanks,
Greg

Yes, #1 was a bug; I have fixed it for the next release.

For#2 and #3, when zap2it does not have unique episode information for a show (for example for nightly news), the ID ends with 0000. The "ignore unique ids ending in ..." really only has one use, and that is to allow you to record such shows by telling the prune duplicates code to treat these as if they were unique. That is why there is only room to enter one ID; by entering 0000 the prune duplicates code will treat all shows without a unique episode ID as if they were unique.

For #4, I disable the built in but I suppose you could have them both running without problem. The built-in would run first and then mine.

For #5, set as default video plug-in means that if you have a remote with a videos key then pressing it will bring up the video archive plug-in.

Thanks for the info. I have one other question about pruning. Does it only prune an episode if the recording still exists or does it remember what I deleted? If I delete an episode, will it record it again since the file doesn't exist?

Thanks,
Greg

It looks at all episodes that you have ever recorded. Even if you delete the file it will not rerecord the episode. There is a (up until now I think) undocumented way to delete a file and mark it as one that can be rerecorded, for example for times when the recording was bad for some reason. To do this, when you go to delete the file from the video archive plug-in information screen, when the delete button is highlighted, instead of pressing okay, press record. This will delete the file and clear out the unique ID information from the video archive database.
