Hi, this might be pie in the sky but....

I can set up TV Out on my nVidia card and run the TV at the same time as the monitor. The TV can be set to clone the monitor, or run as a separate display. However if I run as a separate display, all I ever get on the TV is the windows background. What would be oh so cool would be if I could get GBPVR to take over the TVOut full-screen so I could use the PC for PC stuff at the same time with the monitor.

Does that sound feasible?

Yes, it's feasible.

It's how I run Meedio (I have gbpvr running on the PVR-350 out).

With nvidia , you have the nview properties, that you can set per application and specify on which screen they will run.
(You can also have seperate backgrounds per screen using the Nview properties.)

Cheers

Thanks Mark - that sounds like what I need. I didn't see the per-application stuff so will take another look. What nvidia driver/version are you using and which card?

Thanks for the tips!

Mark, need some help here!

Basically if I setup GBPVR for full screen mode, it always seems to start up on the VGA monitor. I can only seem to get it to start on the TV in windowed mode, which kinda defeats the purpose.

Don't suppose you could spare the time to give me a quick walk though on getting GBPVR to launch on the TV output in full screen?

Cheers,

If you right click on GBpvr in the taskbar and select nView Options -> Send Window to -> Display 2 (assuming your VGA monitor is Display 1 with taskbar and everything), then you can run GBpvr as fullscreen on the TV while doing other things on the VGA. [Image: smile.gif]

Hi,

You can also set a default value for applications e.g. they all open on display 2.
I have my tV out set as display 1 (Primary) and VGA as secondary , this is so that I can play games on the telly as most games will go to the primary display.

This sort of stuff can be set by rightclicking the desktop and going to the NView properties, and you can set profiles and all that sort of stuff.

If you need a step by step guide, let me know and I can take you through it.

Cheers

Thanks guys!

I pretty much tried all that without success, but made some progress when I changed the setup from "Monitor,TV" to "TV,Monitor". Dunno why that made a difference. Anyway, this thing now calls the TV display one, and it seems to think the TV is to the right of the monitor as the mouse slides onto the TV when it goes off the RHS of the monitor.

However still I do have one slight problem: The fullscreen GBPVR window has a white frame around it on the TV which is very distracting. Any ideas on how to get rid of that?

I'm running a bit of overscan on my tv (Right click nView icon in taskbar, select TV Output), I haven't had problems with white borders (ever) but this should solve your problem [Image: smile.gif]

Hi,

I havn't had the problem either, but use 800x600 resolution on the telly screen, since the telly is 16:9 ratio, I lose the edges of a lot of things on the TV anyway (I use the overscan in Meedio instead - although I ought to get round to using powerstrip to get the resolution to fit the telly) .

Cheers
