Sounds about what you'd pay here, too, assuming that you are talking about British pounds? :-(

hmm tempting.

is there any other card with a hardware encoder and tv out on it?

i am trying to build a box that will only be used for recording with a on screen schedule. I will be using a low end mini-itx so hardware encoding is essential.
All programs will be archived to my server.
Anything being played back will be done via my Kiss DP500 dvd player.

Beware, the tv-out feature on the pvr-350 can be a piece of crap, esp in conjunction with the mini-itx boards. If playback will be done with the Kiss, then you don't need the tv-out on the pvr-350, right? You should go for a pvr-150 instead. It also has hardware encoder. The mini-itx board has tv-out built in (although the picture quality isn't the best, but if you are going to do playback from the Kiss, then again, it shouldn't matter too much to you)

yeah I am trying to improve on the video out from the ITX board even if it is just for the displaying of the schedule programming but this seems as though it will be the same quality over PAL no matter what I do.

Does the pvr-150 only come in MCE format?

They make the PVR150 in normal as well, MCE = no remote, standard = with remote.

Many Thanks
