I've gotten everything setup with GB PVR and WinTV PVR-150 and purchased a new GeForce 6600 to ensure there's great video output. Only one problem...

One thing I noticed when using the Nividia PureVideo decoder is that a blue line appears on the left side of the screen. (This actually happens with all the decoders, but the other's seem to hide it for some reason.)

Using Windows Media Player I see that it's not really an output issue, but apparently a capture issue.

I've attached a mockup of what it looks like as I couldn't directly capture the image.

Any help in figuring out how to get rid of this would be very much appreciated!

i saw something like that last when i set the filter merit for the Nvidia Postporcessor too high..
it's almost like it was trying to show me a split screen of with/without postproc.
but setting the filter merit down to about 4-something got rid of it..
i used g-spot to adjust the filter merits..excellent prog.
hope that helps

I've tried your suggestion but it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference. I tested another capture done with the InterVideo codec and it gave me the exact same problem.

I'm almost thinking that it's a video capture card problem, although recordings done via MediaPortal don't seem to have this issue. Is there a setting in GB-PVR that I'm missing?

Another strange problem is that the PureVideo decoder w/GB-PVR now shows only a screwed up screen, with the video in the upper left corner surrounded by "garbage". MediaPortal has no problem with the same setup.

I'd like to get rid of both issues is possible, but the line on the side of the video is my main priority at this point!

Have you tried changing aspect ratio in GB-PVR? I noticed that my GeForce 6800 displayed garbage around the video in VMR mode if you tried to change aspect ratio (same in Hauppauge's software).

Yes I did actually try changing the aspect ratio. It works only off and on. It'll stay for a few minutes/seconds and then revert back. The strange thing is, it does not do this in MediaPortal using the same settings (i.e., VMR9).

It's unfortunate since I'd like to use the PureVideo decoder as I have an nvidia 6600 that I just bought. And although I like MediaPortal's interface better than GB-PVR, it's far less stable.

In GB-PVR, do you see that artifact in all three renderers - Overlay, VMR7 and VMR9?

Yes I've tried all three modes and get the same result.
