Ello.

Ive added a new page to the Wiki, in an effort to provide a depositry of experiences with the setting up of the multitude of tuner cards we are using with GBPVR.

On the list at the moment are tuners which are alreay supported by GBPVR (they are marked 'Native' in the column called 'Level of support'). Mixman got these from within the BDA.ini and direct.ini files and suggested we have links to drivers - so some of the links are there but theres plenty still to be filled in.

The 'Level of support' column is there to be used as an indicator for when a tuner can be made to work with GBPVR but needs a bit of initial legwork such as editing direct.ini and so on. So anyonw who has done this and has a card thats not on the list, either post here detailing what needs adding, or pm blader_se for access to the wiki and do the additions/editing yourself.

I'll try and fill in the blanks over the coming week. Id appreciate anyones contributions to make this a worthwhile exercise.

Cheers
Rick

btw it's um...here :-)

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...reCardList

Nice crack at a list btw, I'm sure it will be appreciated. Perhaps add a link (perhaps even make a separate Table?) of Cards that are NOT natively supported, but work with a Software Recorder (WDM solution) as per the success stories in:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=2753

Just so folks who want to use GBPVR, but don't have a natively supprted card, know there is anotehr option (I'm not one of them btw, I just thought those folks might like to be encouraged... )

Thats the long term aim of the list, to be honest. i thought it would be easier getting the ball rolling with the native cards first, but to also over time, to have cards in there that can be made to work via another method. for example when adding something like the LifeView 'FlyVideo 3000 FM (aka LifeView FlyTV Prime 34)' set the 'l/of support' column to 'Software Recorder (WDM solution)' and have a link to that thread in the comments.

I also pondered weather a blacklist of cards known to definatly not work would be useful too, although im not going to start that one just yet...could be more trouble than its worth.

Im trying to guess which layout would be the most useful for a newbie, so im going to try and keep all cards by one manufacturer grouped together, and as it grows, just split the page into 'Manufacturers A-M' & 'Manufacturers N-Z' type listings, as i guess a newbie may not be entierly clear on what model they have but are likely in the minimum to know what manufacturer it came from.

thanks for the commentsSmile
