I'm using comskip with reboot's ini file and everything is working very well, but I do have one question (for now). I have used config.exe to setup GBPVR to run comskip after recording. Tonight after watching a previously recorded show, I wanted to be able to put the computer into stand-by, but don't want to kill comskip while it was still analyzing the most recent recording. Is there a way to tell that comskip has finished marking the commercials?

Thanks,
Pete

It exits when done

Look in the wiki for how to use paralelprocessing.bat (typo?)
Comskip will be finished when the recording is finished.

Pete,

You could add something in your postprocessing.bat to put your computer in stand by automatically.

But I get the impression that you are looking for some indication from comskip before taking some manual action. I open up the task manager and look for the comskip process running before I decide if I can reboot or take some other drastic action. I run renamerecording as my last postprocessing utility which usually renames my show for me; another visible sign that processing is complete.

You could also create something called a semaphore file that would be easy to look for. Here is a simple script:

Code:
echo comskip running > "c:\comskip running.txt"

comskip %1

del "c:\comskip running.txt"

If you see the file you know that comskip is processing. The file gets deleted when comskip is done. You can also change the path of the file so that it appears somewhere conspicuous, like your desktop. Note that if you have a window open to monitor this file, you may need to refresh to see the current status.

There are programs that can be used to provide popup windows with messages as well, but I would bet that would get pretty irritating real fast.
