uhm... according to this thread, it is already supported....?
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened. (The Restaurant at the End of the Universe)

Yes, it does already work with GB-PVR. Just about no people use it though, so if you havnt already bought it, I'd recommend a Hauppauge PVR150 instead - it works much better.

I'd have to agree with sub here, my first attempt at building a PVR with GBPVR was with a Lifeview TVWalker Mini (USB), which apparently uses the same chip (i.e. a GO7007SB device) as the Plextor PX-TV402 or M402U.
I had rather limited success (see my feeble write-up at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/TVWalker for some primitive hints ...) I ended up buying a PVR-150 and now use that exclusively. I am thinking about another tuner and am tossing up whether to get a PVR-500, another PVR-150 or wait for HDTV. Every so often (normally after a GB-PVR upgrade) I get out the (rather noisy, it has a little fan) Lifeview and check their website to see if they have updated the drivers (which actually crash GBPVR ... ), but Lifeview hasn't and at the end of the day I accept it's simply not worth sub's efforts to put in an enormous amount of time for a device which (relatively) few people have. If you get it going though, good luck to you and perhaps you can write up for addition to the WIKI. k. |
