I seem to run into trouble ever since I moved my TV tuner/GB-PVR installation from a test PC to another machine (Win2k, .Net 1.1/.Net 2.0, DX9c, WMP 9.0). I posted previously to sort out some troubles with the GB-PVR installation, which is running fine now.

But my Diamond PVR-600 seems to give me some trouble now. It has a status light in the front, that was green on the old machine (live TV and recording was working). On the new machine this status light changes from green to red as soon as the driver for the PVR-600 is loaded. I can now watch live TV, but recording shows is not working. BTW: in the device manager the PVR-600 shows up as "working without problems".

So I assume, that the status light indicates, if the device is ready for recording or not (does anybody know for sure?). There must be something missing on the software side. A codec maybe (although - it has hardware encoding, shouldn't require one for recording)? Why is it not recoding? I'd really appreciate any hints.

Thanks!

Green light stays on until drivers load then turns red.
Must be a driver problem, I've searched and searched but can't find a different driver than the one on the CD in original box.

This must be a common problem with this unit as I've seen other comments on different forums but no one seems to have found a solution. Diamond.com is no help at all.

Can you reproduce the recording problem, then zip and attach a set of logs? I'll see if I can see anything obvious.

Was your response directed at technetium ?

As for me, after installing the driver then I could never get the green light to come back on until I uninstalled the software.

technetium: "It has a status light in the front, that was green on the old machine (live TV and recording was working). On the new machine this status light changes from green to red as soon as the driver for the PVR-600 is loaded."

Well part of his question delt with the green status light, he can't do anything because the status light always changes to red which is the exact problem I have.

Read my original reply again. I quoted the bit I was replying to (where he said "I can now watch live TV, but recording shows is not working"). I was not replying to the bit about the lights.

As I said, I dont know anything about the lights on this device. Regardless of what lights are on this unit, if he can watch tv, there is a good chance he can also record, so I wanted to check his logs to see if there was any obvious cause the recording was failing.

Sorry!

_______________
I'm just giving up and putting my unit on ebay. It's not worth the aggravation.
Maybe someone else can get it to work who's familiar with it.
