Around three months ago, I tossed my ATI TV Wonder and went 2 x PVR-150 cards.
I walked in and bought both card at the same time, from the same store.
I have always had issues with one card "tuning in" the cable channels (had to enter them manually using Mhz), but using S-Video from a DCT-2224 worked perfect.
The other card was perfect in both.
Three months later and alot of headaches since, I decide to reformat and take the cards out so that I try seating them in different PCI slots.
I noticed that the two cards are NOT the same:
-----------------------
Card #1
This card is the one that gave me the issues above with Cable in, ok with DCT:
26032 Rev C199 (Built in 2005)
MPEG II Chip: 0511Y1D2 (0512 Taiwan)
Chip to left of above (??): ESMT
-----------------------
Card #2
Card works perfectly with both cable and DCT:
26032 Rev C182 (Built in 2002)
MPEG II Chip: 0448Y1C5 (0448 Taiwan)
Chip to left of above (??): cCsi
-----------------------
OK, my questions are:
Why does the older card seem to work better?
Should i be using a different driver for one and a different one for another?
Should I just go buy a 3rd card, open the box, match it with what I have and return the other unmatched one?
If I was going to keep one just one and get a second card from a different brand (to get my IR Blaster working, see other thread), which should I keep, the newer rev C199 or the older C182?
If you guys could help me out here, I would so appreciate it.
