I would like to limit the amount of time my kids spend watching TV. In a perfect world, there would be log-in screen for each "user" along with a time limt per day (or per week). After the time limit is reached, the box would block the TV singal and prohibit playback of any saved shows.

Thanks
JDF

ooh, I like this, I second this. My kids spend too much time in front of the tube.

I bought a product called Watchdog to limit my kids time on the computer. It provides time block out periods, user limits and individual log in. It supports multiple machines in the home. I guess it could be setup on a media PC running GBPVR to give you this capability. I like it a lot, my Kids don't.

If you have a firewall installed, you may be able to set up 'rules' that will limit access to ports/IP addresses at certain times (I know zonealarm pro allows you to do this). I don't necessarily agree with the approach, but it may be worth a look.
