I reinstalled windows on the pain and I'm still hitting the 1:27 min encoding problem all avi's can still be opened beyond the 1:27 min point with tmpeg but they cannot be played past that point with gbpvr WMP quicktime or real player I'm just stumpped  I have tried some of those fixes I read about and none of em seem to work for me
can anyone tell me what is going on? BTW 1:27:53 seems to be coinciding with 1gb even though the files at times are 1.39 gb or longer help! how do I fix this

This has been covered several times.

It's a problem in that the library used by ffmpeg (libav or whatever) in that it doesn't handle file structures over 1GB. Don't confuse this with the actual file size, sure it'll create a file of the right size but the header of the AVI is bound to a 1GB file structure and that's the problem.

Choices are either to change the encoding to use the xvid encoder or reduce the bitrate to make the file smaller.

Search on here and you will find the posts giving full details.

David.
