I've requested this before, it was somewhat implemented in the Shutdown plugin that was never released (it didn't work with MVP), maybe it can be added in the System function. I wish there was a Sleep function, to put the system to hibernate, standby, or whatever. I know people will say why don't i just use hibernate, the answer is I do use hibernate, but hibernate won't work if there are still processes functioning like hd, cpu or network processes. I want the sleep function since I listen to net radio to help me fall asleep, but without the Sleep function, it just keeps on streaming and it's a waste of power.

So there, I wish there was a Sleep function. Thanks all

To be honest, I've never used the utility. However, not being a true part of GBPVR, it might override any pending or ongoing recordings I might have at that time.

And I don't know how it will affect multiple MVP scenarios. I was thinking maybe a Sleep function on a MVP would just restart the MVP service like forcing a press of the green power button, thus forcing it to be idle without affecting other MVPs online, and on the PC, it will just stop the service like Net Radio or Live TV at specified time limit. Forcing the system to be idle would leave the hibernation/standby process to be handled by OS.

Ah, you talk about something like a Timer? Configurable to some Standard-Times like 15, 30, 45, 60, 120 Minutes?

Mhm, a good idea, i think. Perhaps sub has now the time for something like this, because it looks like most bugs are fixed :-D

Take a look at ReplayTVs post on this thread. although ive not done this myself, i do use PsShutdown and think you could adapt ReplayTVs method to give you a cobled-together sleep function.

you could build a submenu of custom tasks in GBPVR which fired up PsShutdown to start a countdown to sleep the PC, and then exploit the various batch files to cancel the countdown in the same way ReplayTV does when a recording starts...

At least i think you could lol
