well i just got a new reciever sound system thingy, big massive speakers (8 in total) and switched to coax output instead of 5.1 composite output of my sound card. which meant i had to change back to my onboard sound (my sound card coax didnt want to work).

now i have a strange problem, my 150 isnt recording sound. and yes i have checked that its not that my sound card (well onboard) isnt outputing, the 150 just isnt recording any sound. my 350 is recording sound fine and watching timeshift tv or recorded tv the sound is fine. the sound for every file is fine, ive checked dvds, xvid, mpegs, movs, you name it, they all work

except my stupid 150 doesnt record any sound, ive uninstalled the drivers, update to the latest betas from shspvr.com .4 something, follow those annoying instructions of how to update the drivers, and still no bloody sound, its really annoying.

i really hate my 150, the quality is shit compared to my 350 (i love my 350 btw, its always worked for me) and its just been a pain in my arse, im thinking about replacing it with another 350 (250s are hard to find these days), but thats only going to be a last resort (after a format, i dont want to have to format my machine, i did that not 2 months ago).

so anyone experienced absolute no sound from the 150 for no good reason and was able to fix it? or have any idea what i might try to get it to work? i could ask hauppauge support, but lets face it, they're support sucks.

and whats the worst thing is, i missed an episode of boston legal because of this, its just not the same as watching it without sound.....

oh and its not a gbpvr issue, theres no sound from it in errr wintv? (whatever the crappy little app that comes with it is called).

ps anyone know if you can use the 45 button remote on the 350 IR reciever? (the reciever that came with a 34 button remote, if i switch i dont want to have to give up the extra buttons).

TIA

Did you try starting live TV on your 150 and change channels? After a reboot one of my 150's doesn't record sound until I change the channel. There is a thread on this in the forum.

Not saying as the knee-jerk reposponse, but because I had a problem like this, but have you tried different dirvers?

Your problem is almost sounding too consistant to be this, but I know I have a version of the 150, when used w/ older dirvers and the nVidia MB chipset, would cause the audio to cut out in time.

Your problem may not be the same set of circumstances, but it was certainly possible to have a driver set that would effect the sound, so it may be worth looking into. If you're using the newest drivers (either from haup or shpvr), give a version or two back a try.

yup tried changing channels quite a few number of times now (i also use to get no sound on a channel sometimes, changing channels use to fix it).

yup, i upgraded to the latest ones. the card was working fine for about 2 months (since last format) until i changed my audio setup, thats all i did.

ill try that this weekend, if that doesn't work, ill try changing PCI slots, if that doesnt work i guess ill have to do a format....
