I have an annoying problem that I didn't used to have.

Whenever I record using the Nova-t on version 97.09 the recordings always stop short of the set recording times. I have tried changing the MUX (was using Cyberlink, now tries MS) and it's still the same. I didn't have this problem before but now it's happening every time. There are no errors in the log, in fact, GBPVR thinks that it's recording happily but the file just doesn't grow!

I'm going to re-install the last version that I have to see if the problem goes away.

Oh and by the way, it must be something to do with the Nova-t because I have a second tuner, a PVR-250 and that works fine.

It's more likely to be an issue related to BDA, e.g. mux, since the PVR-250 is analogue.

Is this with the DVR-MS mux? Did you know that the filespace is allocated in approx. 96MB chunks? What you should see when the recording starts, is a file size of approx. 96MB then when that has been filled, the size will grow to twice that size, then three times etc. It doesn't grow continuously in the same way as recording to mpeg2 does.

Cheers,
Brian

I don't think that it is simply a problem of MUXs as I didn't have the same problem before and I've now gone back to version 96.12 and it seems (so far) to be okay.

I have tried the Cyberlink MUX and then (as people say it's the most reliable) the DVR-MS one. The problem is not with chunking, because if I wait for the recording to finish (which I usually do), the recording is usually 20 - 40 minutes long, instead of the 60-120 that were scheduled. The shows get cut short (particularly annoying from my wife's point of view).

I guess the problem must be related to .NET framework 2 in some way because the problem happend always on 97.07 and 97.09 and hasn't happened (yet...) since I went back to 96.12.

Yesterday I made my last try. All went OK until I tried to see what was recorded till that moment. After that, recording stopped even if recording service was still in recording state.
Restored 96.12 all is qorking perfectly.
