comskip doesn't always get it right. I'd like to see a tool or plugin that allowed on-screen manual marking of ads in a broadcast, and the ability to also specify which skipped blocks are incorrectly skipped.

The ability to map these commands to buttons on the remote would also be excellent. E.g. my haupphage remote has 4 colour buttons. I could map these to "punch in", "punch out", "remove block", "commit block".

The software would update the comskip text files and then software could re-jig the streams to discard those sections.

This would be great. In my opinion, it would also require GBPVR to have updated transport control such as frame advance/reverse and slow advance/reverse. Without such granular playback it would be very difficult to mark in or out points accurately.

Unfortunately, Sub does not seem interested in providing these advanced playback controls at the moment.

Its not really a matter of not being interested. If I had plenty of time on my hands, this sounds like a reasonable request. Unfortunately plenty of more important things I need to do first.

Some of these just wouldnt be possible, particularly with the MVP, where skipping to +/- 3 seconds is about as accurate as I can get (same goes for detecting where exactly playback is up to).

I don't really see it as being too much of a problem as to need to punch in and out of exact frames. If you could mark the beginning and end of the ad break and just save that data it would be good enough until the granular frame-setp is possible.

Does comskip go over the file multiple times? If so, then manually marking the position of the ads might assist comskip in determining the position of ads more accurately anyway.

yeah; all I really want is that ability integrated into the one environment. Comskip.exe seems to have all those commands in it so I'd half-expected there could be a pvr-friendly interface put over the top.

I guess it stems from the fact that I hate how I have to jump between products with different interfaces, each with varying reliance on keyboards or remotes, etc, to do different tasks.
