the result is that the pvr recorder stops working and just creams the processor... its happened twice now, works for about a day then something goes wrong and any recordings after that point do not go through.

As described here:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=18399&page=2

Unless there's some other config I don't know about I don't know what else to do other than system restore?

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers.

ok I tried changing the mpeg2 playback decoder and that prevents gbpvr from crashing although wmplayer seems to still be fooked by registering the cyberlink mux... frustratingly it only seems to happen after a day or so has passed!

Recording seems to be working now that I've change the playback config, but I'd still like to have wmplayer Wink

Any ideas?

Cheers!

No, sorry I dont. One of the joys of Directshow. Yet again another user gets different behaviour to everyone else. As long as GB-PVR is working, then I'm happy Big Grin

Most people either use either the Cyberlink MPEG Mux or Microsoft DVR-MS mux.

I've not heard any other reports of the Cyberlink mux causing the problem you describe, so I'm guessing its related to some other combination of things your have installed.

You try using the radlight filter manager to icrease the 'merit' of a MPEG2 video decoder, or to decrease the merit of the Cyberlink mux.

Installing another MPEG2 decoder on your PC may fix the problem.

cheers but I may have found the root of the problem... have uninstalled some software -- that I had thought looked good -- and it seems to be working...

edit: which is to say, you were right!
