I just got done with a reformat and was recently just upgraded to 97.13 and then I went to install BlueMCE2 and I notice theres a new version (based on Baseskin XMLs) so I get it and install it and me expecting the old style BlueMCE2 was knocked off guard. Anyways some things in the new one I like, like the better responsive to controls and the little x in the top right and more buttons on Live TV (dont know if thats a good thing yet) but there are also a lot of stuff I dont care for and before I go into that I was wanting to know whats up with this skin is it currently under devolopment or what. The buttons and text look bad the tvguide is completely different and the live tv gui. Any information would be helpful, I love the BlueMCE2 skin and I have a lot of respect for the skinners so in no way take this offensively I am just concerned about the prettyness of the old BlueMCE2 that made it great. Thanks again!

The original is still availible for download. The original is no longer supported so MixMan created that version. I am curious about the buttons and text looking bad. I would have thought the button images would look the same, maybe just larger.

TV guide and Live TV the only things you don't care for? Does the text in general look bad or is just as related to buttons? Several of us are coming up with a updated system, and we are using the graphics from MCE2.

This is what could possibly be close enough for the TV Guide under the new system.

Does that look close enough?

Yeah that looks fine for the most part, im not going to get to pickey but take a look at the screenshot and maximize it so you get a good look at the quality of the text because I would like to know if thats normal or if its a setting I could change.

Here is what you do.

#1 Download the old version and un-zip it.
#2 copy the Main Menu folder and Panels folder from the old version to the new version and you should be all set.

You could even copy over the TV Guide folder as well.

(I would be careful not to do that with every plugin.)

Killing2Live, do you have your Windows font smoothing set to use ClearType? This can result in text similar to that you pointed out.

You know, I was just thinking about that right after I posted and was thinking that could be the culprit. I have ClearType on, is that a bad thing for GB-PVR? Is there a workaround or do I have to just turn off ClearType?

I'm not sure its the cause. Try turning it off to see if it helps. If it is the problem, then I cant think of any work around other than turning it off.

Alright so I turn off ClearType and go to start GB-PVR but I get this [Image: gbpvrds7.th.jpg] I have been having this before (ever so often) but I just restart and its fixed. But I figured while Im here posting might as well ask about it. Anyways afterwards I look in my event viewer and find this error
Event Type: Error

Event Category: None
Event ID: 0

So what do you think Sub? Seen this before?
Oh and one last question, whenever I shutdown my computer I always get that loud windows error sound and a box saying something about GBPVR. Ill get you updates on the ClearType thing and the error at shutdown in a bit.
Thanks Sub as always

EDIT: Just realized that I did not have all the updates for .NET Framework so I will be updating and testing
EDIT: I installed ShowBurner Utility from the wiki and part of it was adding lines to config.xml and on one of the settings it started with two <. ie: <<Convers..., what a mess to fix but I got it working. Now to what I originally wanted to do.

UPDATE: Alright, to fix the nasty text on the new BlueMCE turn off ClearType because that is what causes it too look bad. Well I guess its ClearType off for now because GBPVR is more important than pretty text on my computer.
