DBV-T national characters missing in German EPG

Dear GBPVR Support Gurus,

I am having trouble with the software in Germany. When retrieving the EPG by scraping DVB-T broadcasts, the national characters seem to be lost when put into the database.

I am not sure how to start debugging this, as I am not sure if the national characters (German for example üöäß) are lost while reading the DVB-T stream, or are the dropped when written into the database.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Sorry, I am aware of this. I've only really been able to develop/test the DVB EPG with english, but I do know that national characters for some languages are dropped.

Its hassle, but...If you wanted to record a transport stream file and pop it on to a CD and mail it to me in New Zealand, then I'll see if I cant get it working for you. Alternatively, if you have access to a web server and couple make a 100MB or so transport stream file available, I'll download it and take a look.

I am happy to get you any data you want in terms of raw data from the DVB-T stream to help you debug. Please let me know what you need, and how to get it, and I can give you either HTTP or FTP access to the file.

Hi Sub,

I've got a new card (Cinergy 2400i dual) and the software from Cinergy can record transport streams.

I've put a 5 minute file on my web server (about 140MB) that you should be able to download. I did not store the audio track to save space, I hope this was okay.

I saw you trying to DL the file -- unfortunately I had to reboot a bit due to a memory upgrade. You should have no troubles now -- expect about 512kbps upstream.

schon mal TVxb ausprobiert? Benutze es jetzt seit mehreren Monaten. Funktioniert einwandfrei (14 Tage Vorschau), man braucht nur eine Internetverbindung.
