Hi

Perhaps a daft question, but i would like my mobile (using Opera mini) to connect automatically to EWA. Is there a way to establish the IP address of my phone on GPRS or do things not work quite like that?!?

I need you to explain what you would like to do.....the above didn't make much sense to me.....I am easily confused though....Rolleyes

No worries!

Basically im being lazy, i want to be able to auto login to EWA on my phone using Opera Mini. http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/

Originally i assumed i could get the IP address of the phone and add it to EWA's config list of allowed IP's for autologin and save some hassle for my self

Now after i asked this question i saw a mention of 'whatismyip.org' and managed to get the ip address of the phone, which is always in the range 193.35.129.0 - 255.

I wasnt sure whether GPRS worked the same as other internet protocols.

Now EWA says that the above IP range is an invalid IP address?

Hope that explained things, and that the more specific question of invalid IP address didnt confuse the issue more!

To tell you the truth I still am not quite sure how the autologin ip rang thing works.....I did not write that code. You could PM normanR and see if he could help. I think the way it is setup you enter the base ip and then a / and a number which opens it up to a broad range....the autologin, I belive is designed for internal network auto-access and not external....

Yeah i did try that and it didnt like it! Its not a big deal, logging in isnt a hassle really, i was more curious to see if i was doing something wrong, or misunderstanding something.

Having some of the settings stored in cookies has made mobile EWA usage much much better though! setting minute span to 30 has made the view far easier to read! loving your work!

Glad to hear moving things to cookies has improved the mobile experience...I thought it would but did not get any feedback whether it made things somewhat better.

Can i request a feature?

When using mobile, i use the 'blank' theme, but its currently very hard to see whats already set to record, and to get confirmation that a recording is scheduled (it always is, but i never know until i get home!)

Could the text be coloured to represent status, ie red for scheduled recording, green for available etc?
Maybe this could be a separate radio button on config, or just the default for the 'blank' theme?

Try the attached file....just unzip it.....it will create a new them called Mobile. Go into your config tab.....select the new theme and click submit. This should give you clearer fonts and color coding for recordings.

Let me know what you think.

sorry for the late feedback Wink, i'm not a heavy user of the EWA so hadn't really tried out the mods, but I was away this week and the mobile theme and cookie changes work brilliantly!!! Keep up the good work............
