I've just recently installed GB-PVR (v0.98.13b) on a Windows 2000 Pro (Pentium 4 1.8 gHz box) and I am having problems getting the DVD Button to come up so I can watch DVDs. I can record and watch TV shows just fine with my Hauppauge PVR350, but no luck on the DVDs. I thought maybe it was dependent upon my dvd decoder so I tried both WinDVD 2000 and PowerDVD 5 and neither worked for me. I could play the DVD through those programs, but I couldn't get the DVD button to come up in GB-PVR. Any ideas?

There is no ability to playback DVDs when you're using the TV out on a PVR350. You need to use a regular video card for that.

That's a bummer. Is it possible then to display the s-video input from the hauppauge pvr 350 card into GB-PVR? Also wanted to know b/c I was planning on capturing some VHS tapes and was wondering if GB-PVR supports capture through the s-video input from the hauppauge pvr 350 card.

Yes, you can do this. You need to set up an additional capture source for your PVR350, and set it to use the svideo input. Set the EPG to 'none' and manually create a channel called something like AV1 or SVIDEO. You'll then be able to schedule recordings from this channel, or switch to it in live tv.
