Hi,

when i open the Photo Library it takes about 20 seconds until i can expand the first folder ....
another thing is that the scrolldown box dosnt recognized the screen resolution, as u can see in the screenshot ....

Yep....to build the view the code traverses all directories and subdirectories and every file...... loading in the file info for each image....this does take some time....and even more if the folders are on a network share.

Also correct....the frame that the directory shows in does not take into consideration screen size....I run on a laptop at 1600x1200 resolution and it works fine. At some point I will probably work on auto-sizing the directory listing.....

why u dont create the view of the photos like the mp3 or the movie files and
load the file info, when loading the photo itself ?

I wanted to move up a notch from the plain text look or the Music and Video libraries. Also with the Photo album you have three things you need to do on one page....list the pictures and view the picture and also manipulate the selected picture (rotate and resize).

The best way to do this that also positioned the photo library for future enhancements (IMHO) was to use a single page that frames in the two functionalities....directory listing and picture viewing.

This way as enhancements are added to the directory code or to the picture viewing (i.e. thumbnail directory view and or previous/next picture) you don't have a tangle of spaghetti code to work with.

I will look at the tree control to see if the plain text view is any quicker and possibly add an option to select the desired tree view display type.
