Ok, I made an error and recorded something I wanted to burn to DVD (single layer) in high quality; and the total recording is 5.5gig.

What the best way to get the highest quality single-layer recording?

I can buy a dual-layer blank, but the end user will play back in a set-top DVD player and I am unsure of -R compatibility for dual-layer, as I read playback on settops for homemade dual-layer can have mixed success.

I have the 350 and DVD-burning apps that came with that, plus NEro Pro 7 or so, if that information helps.

Thanks for help!

I'd use Rejig for that: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=449
Works very well, is free and gives good quality. Don't be mislead by the size of it.Smile

Edit: You could also make a dvd-image of it and then shrink it with DVD-Shrink or Nero-recode. The last two are a kind of the same as Nero hired the maker of DVD-Shrink to enhance their Recode tool.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

Thanks for the reply; I'll try both and see how the quality turns out.
This is a recording of a show from 1945 so there are some artifacts; which might be more evident with a noisy compression.
