Two issues in the new build 55.

#1. See attached screenshot. When clicking on any program in the TV Guide or Managed Recordings, both the pop-up window and the main browser window display the program information box.

#2. When clicking on the Config tab, I enter my username & password and then press enter, I get a number of the Default Beep sound in rapid succession.

The only troubleshooting steps taken are to restart the recording service and restart my computer. When the screen shot was taken, I was accessing EWA from the same computer EWA is installed on. I did try to access EWA from my laptop and it too displayed the above behavior.

Interesting.....I am not seeing this and no one else has reported it......perhaps you have a corrupt install?

Have you tried reverting back to buld 54 to see if it still occurs?

Humm... I reverted back to build 54 and it's doing the same thing, it didn't used to. I'll keep messing around and let you know if I find anything.

Is there anything else used by EWA besides the GBPVR database and the /web folder?

After not getting anywhere with a clean install of GBPVR & EWA, it was still happening. To I decided to test with Firefox and it works fine. Apparently some update to Windows/IE is causing this on both PCs. Wonderful.

Thanks for your help UncleJohn

The system with GB-PVR currently has IE6 with the latest critical updates. I also tried IE7 and it did the same thing. Firefox 2 did not.

I do have a clean install of Windows XP SP2 on Virtual PC with IE6 without the latest updates and it is not displaying this behavior. I'm going to use that so see if I can find out what is causing it and I'll post back here.

Found it!!! It was the BitComet bittorrent client I'm using (and may not be much longer for other reasons). I upgraded it about the same time I upgraded EWA. It integrates into IE which it tries to setup itself to handle both bittorrent and IE downloads. I have all that turned off but there is a 'helper' plugin still active. I have no idea what it does because when I disable it, the functionality still works for IE downloads as far as I can tell. It integrates into Firefox as well but doesn't have the same features it provides to IE and therefore FF doesn't display the behavior first mentioned in the thread.

If by chance anyone else happens to read this later on, to disable the 'helper,' open IE, on the menu bar click Tools -> Internet Options -> click the Programs tab -> Manage Addons. Select "BitCopmet Helper" and in the Settings box, click Disable. You'll have to close all IE windows and reopen it for the change to take effect.

For sure BitComet version .84 doesn't work with EWA. I think the previous version I had was .82 and don't remember any issues. I would try to find out exactly what version the issue first appears but downloading from their site is so slow... I'm talking bytes/second.

Again, thanks UncleJohn for your help. Let me know if you want or need any more information on this.
