Maybe there is already a way but I am after a quick way to jump to parts of directory listings in the music/video directories.

At current if I am creating a queue of files to be played, it takes about 2 miniutes to scroll from top to bottom as I have quite a few. So if I want to queue a 'Zak Wilde' song then a 'U-God' song for instance this would take 4 miniutes especially as it jumps back to the begining of the listing again each time you go up a directory.

Sub I know you have allot to do , but please can this be added to the list, please, go on you know you want to ..... [Image: wink.gif]

OK, I can do this. How would you prefer it to work? Would making the skip buttons |< >| jump a page at a time help?

Thanks Sub,

The thougths I have had are :

Either what you have said the skip buttons jumping a page which I do belive would be the same functionality of the HP MediaMVP software. This works well.

or (this may be harder to implement) but would be the best solution:

To work like a mobile phone, in that when you push 1 it goes to folder/tracks begining with A push 1 again it goes to B push it again goes to C, if you push 2 it goes to D and so on ...

or even just remember where you were in top directory so when you go up a level again it remembers the folder you were on.

Thanks once again Sub.

Problem with using the letters is that the directory is not always sorted. Particularly if your use the shuffle button. I think I'll go with the skip buttons and remembering where you were.

Hi Sub,

I have had a thought, please excuse me if I am making something sound easy when I know its not , but here it goes.

Could you just not make it that everytime you push a number button in a list of files it sorts it first whatever the case.

Then do your magic. [Image: wow.gif]

Like I say I am sure its not that easy and I suppose having to do a sort evertime a number button is pushed would slow down responsiveness.

I was trying to find out how to put lists in order. Is this documented somewhere?
