That might explain why It works on the DVB-S since it can handle AC3...

Best regards!

Okay, this is what I see needs to be done: if there is anyone with DirectShow or FilterGraph experience or knowledge please can you chip in!

The DVD Navigator graph outputs the following streams:

Video - Major Type: DVD_ENCRYPTED_PACK - Sub Type: MPEG2_VIDEO - Format: MPEG2Video

Audio - Major Type: DVD_ENCRYPTED_PACK - Sub Type: DOLBY_AC3 - Format: WaveFormatEx: 48.000 KHz 0 bit stereo

Sub-picture - Major Type: DVD_ENCRYPTED_PACK - Sub Type: DVD_SUBPICTURE - Format: MPEG2Video

The Hauppauge hardware decoder/TV Out needs an input that corresponds with one of the following types:

Major Type: MPEG2_PES - Sub Type: MPEG2_VIDEO - Format: MPEG2Video
Major Type: Video - Sub Type: MPEG1Packet - Format: MPEGVideo
Major Type: Stream - Sub Type: MPEG2_PROGRAM - Format: None
Major Type: Video - Sub Type: MPEG2_VIDEO - Format: MPEG2Video
Major Type: GUID_NULL - Sub Type: GUID_NULL - Format: GUID_NULL

What we need is something that sits between the two, and converts the encrypted MPEG2 stream and the AC3 audio to unencrypted standard MPEG2 video and audio. Given the availability of programs that do the decrypting as described in previous posts in this thread, is it possible to write a filter that multiplexes the audio and video and outputs it with the correct tag on (e.g. as program stream)?

Cheers,
Andy

Interesting idea, too bad I don't even understand most of it [Image: wink.gif]

Well ok I get the idea, at least.

Of course now I see why people loop the audio from the 350 card back to the line in on the sound card. A sound card can probably handle the AC3 information.

Also just discovered last night that net radio doesn't work over the 350's audio outputs (no surprise there, not many apps do!!Wink looping into the sound card's line in (and unmuting line in, it's muted by default, remember) works fine. Now I just need to find a way to make that process smaller, the adapters I have to do it stick out the back way too far.

The net radio is mp3 files? Probably need to decode and encode to mp2, then mux with a m2v file to create an mpeg2 video stream which would then allow you to listen to the radio.

No, it's streaming shoutcast, so your idea would not work. Looping the composite audio out of the 350 card to the line in on the sound card, then using the sound card's line-out works.
