How about some kind of indicator on the GBPVR main screen to tell you that an update to GBPVR is available? Something obvious without being annoying. It could randomly choose a time to check an xml file on gbpvr.com.

Just so everyone doesn't get notified and starts downloading on day 0, maybe the xml file wouldn't be updated until a week after a release.

Maybe it could be a setting so you can choose if you want to show the notification or not.

Just a thought. Would make it handy to know your running the latest version of gbpvr. I find myself checking gbpvr.com almost daily anyhow, looking at the download link.

Usually there are several months between updates, so I wouldn't be obsessive about it. Generally, if everything is running without a hitch, enjoy and check less frequently.

..Or, get sucked into the forums like me and check for new messages every few minutes.

All kidding aside, that may increase bandwidth that our humble developer may not wish to incur.

Well, an automated indicator wouldn't necessarily check every day. Maybe once biweekly or something.

Funny, maybe that would lower bandwidth. I wouldn't be so tempted to check whats new every night. Smile

Yeah, I'm a forum junkie.
